The other day I had to take pictures of an australian journalist who recently came to berlin and freelances now for the Berliner Zeitung. Tourned out that there was some missunderstanding because the assigment should have been to take pictures of her at her favorite place in berlin – and her flat doesn´t count. So we had to redo the pictures, this time at the Paul-Linke-Ufer, her favorite place to take a walk.

Two portrait-jobs today, one of a bishop who recently moved to berlin and the other one of a australian journalist who will write a column for the Berliner Zeitung about beeing a foreigner in berlin. Coincidence?

Starting next monday I will begin an intership at the Berliner Zeitung in… well, in Berlin. I am not sure how tight my schedule will be and how often I will be able to update my blog. But posting some pictures now and then shouldnt be to much of a problem. We´ll see.
Anyhow, this means that I cant continue to work on the story about Masu right now. I hope I will get the chance to finish it when i come back in 6 months.
Another Slideshow done during the Wahlfahrt-Project.
The Wahlfahrt09 is over and I want to share some stuff I have done during the trip here. This time it is all about random shots from the various citys I have been. All pictures taken while going for a walk or waiting for something/anything to happen.
Enjoy!

Last week I was in Amsterdam with my girlfriend. It was our first trip together, so there was potentially pretty much that could have gone wrong… Luckily it didnt! Amsterdam is an awesome city and we had a great time there. Click the link below to see a short visual diary.
Almost a year ago I traveled trough serbija and worked on an essay about the country and its people.
Some time ago, on my old website, I already uploaded it to be seen in its entirety. But somehow I didnt put it on the new site… my bad. Anyway, now it is here again and ready to be seen.
You can find some images and the link to the whole book below.

You can find the whole presentation here, and you can buy a hardcopy via blurb here. Enjoy.

I was recently asked to take pictures of some T-Shirts and Blazers some friends of mine have made. Nothing comercial, they needed it for their portfolio.
Although fashion is not the field I usualy work in, it was nevertheless quite fun and a good exercise.

A few days ago I was assisting a good friend of mine while shooting a staging based on the novel “magazin des glücks” written by Dea Loher
Again for clarification, the images below are theater-photography, since posed. Not by me, but by her – I just tried to make the best of it and to practice my eye…

A project I had to do last year for school, I kinda like how your eyes need some time to adapt to the certain layers of the images. But I doubt that you can use double exposures in a serious reportage. Or has anyone a counter-example?
Back in autumn of 2008 I headed out with some friends to shoot the Castor-Transport which was coming from La Hague (france) all the way to Gorleben (germany).
One could probably assume that it was pretty exciting with all the police runing around, shouting and trying to catch the demonstrators who were blocking the railway… But to be honest, it was kinda dissapointing. I had the impression that the people were not fighting for their rights or their belive, but only for the hell of it. Pretty much like the 1. May in Berlin.

Back in the days where I had something called “free time” I used to go out for a walk and just shoot anything that looked interesting, I should do this more often… Not that the pictures are of any value, but its a good practise and simply fun.
It has been quite some while since i took this pictures of Harald Martenstein… and most of the time when I look at pictures I have done in the past i feel the urgent whish to redo them now because i have the feeling they could become so much better. Possibly that is just an illusion, never had the chance to test it.

So the other day a friend of mine and me had to do a homework-assignment for university, which was basicaly to shoot our way from home to school… sounds dull? True.
We tried to make the best of it but i would lie if i say that we had fun. Anyway, you can se what we came up with below. The images on the left are from me and the ones on the right are from Andy. And you should ever come in the unconfortable situation of doing something like this, keep in mind that vertical images are not used in a storyboard… who would have thought?
