This is a short story about Dragan, a once homeless and desperate roma who has now found peace and a new meaning in his life while working as a shepherd. As a young man he worked in the merchant navy and visited countrys all around the world. But gambling, alcohol and family problems made him loose his job. With no money and nobody to hold on to, he began wandering around bulgaria, romania and finally serbia. There, on a farm near the smal village of Bela Crkva, he got a job as a shepherd. Although he gets no salary, he is provided with food, shelter and cigarettes.
He likes it that way – “It makes things less complicated” he said.
